on hiatus
Unexpected (but happy) events have kept me from blogging. I hope to start posting again soon, perhaps as early as Sunday. Stick around. There’ll be lots of new stuff.

How to freak me out:
Stop working and drive me mad because I’ve spilled a tiny bit of water on your up-and-down arrow key area.
How to calm me down:
Email me or post sage advice on how I can handle the problem.
On a more serious note, yes, the laptop is back online, though not before it gave me an anxiety attack. It’s brand new, for crying out loud! Didn’t know half a teaspoon worth of water could do so much damage. Let’s hope it continues working now.
They say marriage is about sharing and apparently that applies to sinus infections as well. Alex had one earlier this week and had to miss work for 3 days, and this weekend was my turn. I’m miserable. To top it off, my left eye is so swollen it looks like someone gave me a shiner. And tomorrow I have to go to a new writing workshop to discuss one of my stories, which is about–you guessed it–a battered woman. Insert your own joke here. If you’ve written me email or sent me IMs, I’m sorry for not responding. I’m woefully behind on my correspondence and hope to catch up when I feel better.
It’s my birthday today. And as if to confirm the fact that I am indeed older, I didn’t know half of the performers mentioned at the Grammys last night. Who the hell is 50 cent? BigTymer? Remy Shand?
And I drank chamomille tea.
And I went to bed at 10:30.
So there.
Addendum: Alex and I went to Chaya for a quiet dinner tonight (but thanks to Neil, Candy, Irene, Drew, Sage, Maria, Keaver, and Carl for a fantastic dinner on Saturday). Ate entirely too much. Ran into an old friend I haven’t seen in almost a year.
Turns out my fatigue from yesterday was because I was coming down with a sore throat. Suggestions for harmless self-medicating brews welcome.
