Flowers on Bundy

My pal Ibarionex Perello, an accomplished writer and photographer, sends in this lovely black-and-white picture, taken during his lunch break last week, in Los Angeles:

Of the photo, he says, “As I walk down Bundy, cars whiz past me. Everyone is in a rush. I force myself to slow down and take my time; let the shafts of light guide my eyes. I finally find what I’m looking for in a collection of flowers beside an apartment building. The breeze is my nemesis as I wait it out until the petals stop moving and I’m assured a sharp photograph. When I return to the office, the work is still waiting for me, but I’ve brought with me something special, something all my own.” Perello has started his own podcast, in which he interviews fellow photographers.
