Darfur

Apologies for the lack of posts these past couple of days. I have been far too angry about the prospect of nuclear war with Iran, the atrocities in Darfur, or the mess in Iraq to contemplate blogging. I leave you with this photo, which my friend Sean Carman sent in:

sudanese_protesters_1_4x6.jpg

Carman took the photo at last week’s rally on the National Mall, in Washington, D.C. (The rally was organized by the Million Voices Campaign and SaveDarfur.org to show public support for intervention to end the genocide in Sudan.) Except for the signs, the photo could have been from 1963. Whether this is inspiring or depressing, I can’t quite tell.
