World AIDS Day

As has been pointed out elsewhere, today is World AIDS Day. If you think this doesn’t concern you, just read this BBC article about the spread of the disease.

For a more literary take on things, Ted Genoways sends word that the Virginia Quarterly Review is offering a sneak preview of their upcoming Winter issue, which contains essays by epidemiologist Philip Alcabes, AIDS reporter Helen Epstein, and South African journalist Jann Turner, as well as photographs by Charter Weeks.
