Pamuk vs. Turkish Government

As has been widely reported, acclaimed writer Orhan Pamuk has been charged with “insulting” the state. His crime? Saying this to a Swiss newspaper back in February:

Thirty thousand Kurds and 1 million Armenians were killed in these lands and nobody but me dares to talk about it.

Turkey continues to deny the genocide of Armenians between 1915 and 1917. The charges are very serious, and Pamuk faces jail time if convicted.
