Good Reference

Amit Chaudhuri’s The Vintage Book of Modern Indian Literature sounds like a really interesting anthology, but the Village Voice’s review is so brief, it seems to take less space than the author’s picture. Still, it sounds like a great reference, including older Indian authors (not just the young, immigrant ones) and those who write in English as well as Hindi and Bengali (as far as I can tell. There could be other languages represented.)
