Dinarzad’s Children
People often ask me for recommendations in Arab American literature and that always proves to be a tough task because my answer is usually, well, what kind of books do you like? But things may become slightly easier for those who like to sample many different writers before dipping in a novel-length work. Dinarzad’s Children, a new anthology of short fiction by Arab American writers, will be published by the Arkansas University Press in November. It features the work of Nabeel Abraham, Diana Abu-Jaber, Susan Muaddi Darraj, Yussef El Guindi, Joseph Geha, Rawi Hage, Laila Halaby, Randa Jarrar, Mohja Kahf, Pauline Kaldas, Sahar Kayyal, Khaled Mattawa, D. H. Melhem, May Mansoor Munn, Francis Khirallah Noble, Samia Serageldin, Evelyn Shakir, Patricia Sarrafian Ward, and David Williams. You can already pre-order the book at Powell’s or Amazon.
