Diana Abu-Jaber was at Powell’s yesterday, to read from her latest novel, Crescent, which is now out in paperback. I hadn’t heard Abu-Jaber read before, and was delighted with her rendering of the scene in which Sirine and Han make pastries together in the back of the restaurant.
