This isn’t getting too much attention from our media, but a conference on the environment and global warming is currently taking place in Marrakesh, Morocco. Attendees are attempting to legislate the Kyoto protocol. It seems things are moving along pretty well, and it looks like the protocol will be ratified next year.

Unfortunately, however, the BBC reports that:

[T]he US, under the direction of President George W Bush, has already repudiated the treaty entirely, saying it would harm its economy. US representative Paula Dobriansky said climate change warranted “serious attention and real commitment” but reaffirmed President Bush’s position against signing the treaty.”
